Class 1st to 5th Curriculum (Primary School)

1. Language and Literacy Development:

  • First Language (usually local or national language):

    Focuses on reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Students begin with basic alphabets, sentence formation, and comprehension.

  • Second Language (typically English or regional language):

    Introduction to basic vocabulary, simple grammar rules, and sentence structure. Reading short stories and improving conversation skills.

2. Mathematics:

  • Class 1st & 2nd:

    Basic numeracy, counting, addition, subtraction, shapes, and patterns.

  • Class 3rd to 5th:

    Introduction to multiplication, division, fractions, basic geometry (shapes, angles), measurements (length, weight, volume), and simple word problems.

3. Environmental Studies (EVS):

  • An integrated subject covering science and social studies. Students explore their surroundings, learn about plants, animals, human body, basic health and hygiene, family, and community.
  • Basic geography concepts like landforms, water bodies, and climate, as well as simple historical and cultural topics.

4. Arts and Craft:

  • Drawing, painting, coloring, basic crafts using different materials, and introduction to fine motor skills through activities like cutting, folding, and pasting.

5. Physical Education (PE):

  • Fun physical activities focusing on gross motor skills, coordination, teamwork, and fitness. Simple games and exercises to promote a healthy lifestyle.

6. Moral Science and Values Education:

  • Basic principles of good behavior, manners, respect, sharing, caring, and teamwork. Students learn about community helpers and how to be responsible individuals.

7. Music and Performing Arts:

  • Introduction to singing, rhythm, basic musical instruments, and performing arts like drama and dance. Development of listening skills and creativity through music.

8. Computer Literacy (Class 3rd onwards):

  • Introduction to basic computer concepts, keyboard and mouse usage, simple typing, and an introduction to educational software and digital games for learning.

Class 6th to 8th Curriculum (Middle School)

1. Language and Literature:

  • First Language:

    Continued focus on advanced reading, writing, grammar, and literature. Comprehension of longer texts, creative writing, essay writing, and exposure to poems and stories from classical and contemporary authors.

  • Second Language:

    More complex grammar, conversational skills, writing essays, and comprehension tasks.

2. Mathematics:

  • More advanced arithmetic, algebraic expressions, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio and proportion, geometry (angles, shapes, area, and volume), and introduction to data handling, statistics, and simple probability.

3. Science:

  • Physics:

    Simple machines, light, electricity, and magnetism.

  • Chemistry:

    Introduction to states of matter, mixtures, acids and bases, and simple chemical reactions.

  • Biology:

    Study of plants, animals, human body systems (digestive, respiratory, circulatory), health and hygiene, and environment conservation.

4. Social Studies:

  • History:

    Ancient civilizations, medieval history, and introduction to modern world history.

  • Geography:

    Landforms, climate zones, natural resources, maps, and earth’s structure.

  • Civics:

    Basics of democracy, government structure, rights and duties of citizens, and introduction to the constitution.

  • Economics:

    Simple economic concepts like goods, services, trade, money, and saving.

5. Computer Science:

  • Introduction to coding (simple programming concepts), the internet, online safety, using office tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and creating simple presentations and documents,

6. Arts and Craft:

  • More advanced techniques in drawing, painting, sculpting, and crafts. Introduction to art history and studying works of renowned artists. Students work on collaborative art projects.

7. Physical Education and Health:

  • rganized sports, athletic events, team games, and physical fitness routines. Emphasis on physical fitness, discipline, and teamwork. Introduction to basic first aid and health education (nutrition, body image, personal hygiene).

8. Moral Science and Life Skills Education:

  • Topics on personal values, peer relationships, conflict resolution, leadership skills, empathy, and respect for diversity. Encouraging participation in community service and social responsibility.

9. Music, Dance, and Drama:

  • Introduction to more complex music theory, learning to play instruments, singing in groups, and exposure to classical and folk music. Performance arts like drama, storytelling, and dance.

10. Work Education/Skill Development:

  • Hands-on projects focusing on practical skills like gardening, basic carpentry, sewing, cooking, and other vocational activities that encourage creativity and self-reliance.
